MATERIAL STUDIES / CANTON FAIR EDIT

Start with material.
Make room for design.

The same fibre. Different structures. Different behaviours. A sample edit for the Canton Fair, inviting a closer look through light, touch and drape.

Exhibition preview · A material selection and guide to observation. Evaluate material behaviour with the physical samples.

LOOK CLOSER / Compare folds and fall through large hanging samples. The 60m/m heavy crêpe also has its own Hero Material presentation.

03 / LIGHT

We play with light.

Surface, weave, thread and openness. Different materials respond to light in different ways.

WITH LIGHT.

SURFACE

One base. Different surfaces.

Six white 75D stretch samples with light-and-shadow textures. Compare gloss and texture, distinguishing surface finishing from woven jacquard.

WEAVE

Pattern through weave

16m/m Sangbo satin, 25m/m animal jacquard satin, 27m/m Su brocade and polyester jacquard.

THREAD / OPENNESS

Catching light. Letting it through.

Coloured and silver threads, metallic jacquard and open leno constructions. Compare front light and backlight to read the spaces between yarns.

RELIEF

Relief in raking light

22m/m Guanle crêpe. Observe its dimensional surface under low-angle light.

BLACK

One colour. Different light.

30m/m black crêpe satin, 32m/m twill Xiangyunsha and 30m/m black-finish Xiangyunsha. Compare lustre, construction and surface under the same light.

04 / BLENDS & COLOUR

Silk, in other company.

Silk with wool and cotton. Compare fibre combinations, then study colour within the same construction.
